Pollster Don Anderson and Merritone's Monte Blake among 4 to receive honorary doctorates at UWI, Mona graduation
Pollster Don Anderson and Merritone Music owner Monte Blake are among four people to receive honorary doctorates at The University of the West Indies, Mona, graduation ceremonies from October 31 to November 2.
President and CEO of VM Group Limited and VM Financial Group Limited, Courtney Campbell, and applied scientist Dr Conrad Douglas are the other two set to receive honorary doctorates at the Mona campus' graduation.
The university says Blake will receive the Doctor of Letters (DLitt) for his pioneering work in music.
Anderson will receive the Doctor of Laws (LLD) for his work as an entrepreneur, market researcher and sport administrator.
For his contribution to the development of the bauxite industry, Dr Douglas will received the Doctor of Laws (LLD), while Campbell will also receive an LLD for his work as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
The four Jamaicans are among 13 person upon whom honorary degrees will be conferred across The UWI's five campuses.
Among the others are cricketer, Sir Curtly Ambrose of Antigua and Barbuda, and track athlete Kirani James of Grenada.
