‘Legitimate security threat’ triggered increased police presence for PM Holness’ residence - JCF
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says increased police presence was today deployed in the surrounding community and in the vicinity of the Beverly Hills, St Andrew residence of Prime Minister Andrew Holness amid a legitimate security threat to him and his household.
The JCF says the deployment was initiated in response to credible intelligence gathered.
“The swift and effective action by our officers successfully repelled this threat,” the JCF stated in a media release this evening.
The force says it will continue to maintain a presence at the location in line with standard security protocols.
It dismissed claims that a raid was conducted Holness' private residence and urged the public to act responsibly.
“We urge members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information”
The JCF says it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, particularly in moments where intelligence suggests heightened risks.
