Body of woman found in canal in Spanish Town

A police investigation is now under way into a case of suspected drowning in the vicinity of the Port Henderson main road in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Diva Wallace Harvey of Lime Tree in the parish.

It is reported that about 8:30 a.m., passers-by stumbled upon the body of a woman floating in a canal and summoned the police.

The scene was examined and the body was removed.

A post-mortem is to be conducted.
