Ex-policeman arrested in connection with murder of soldier in Denham Town

An ex-policeman has been arrested in relation to last month's shooting death of a Jamaica  Defence Force soldier while he was on duty in Denham Town, Kingston. 

Private Ejay Domville was shot and killed about 1:25 a.m. on August 23.

He was part of a team that was on foot patrol in Denham Town when he was shot in the vicinity of Charles Street and Chestnut Lane. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, who is said to be a former member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, was held in Kingston on Saturday.

He is being held on suspicion of murder, possession of prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The name of the 31-year-old suspect is being withheld pending further investigation. 

Other suspects are reportedly being sought in connection with the murder.
