Education Ministry providing counselling amid fatal crash involving students in Clarendon
The Ministry of Education says it is deeply saddened by today's crash in Clarendon that left two students of Lennon High School dead and other students in hospital.
It is reported that one of the injured students is in critical condition.
“Our hearts and prayers are with their families, friends, and the entire Lennon High School community during this time of unimaginable grief,” said the Ministry is a statement.
It said it has activated the Ministry's trauma and grief counselling teams to provide immediate support to the affected families, students, and staff at all institutions.
“We are fervently praying for their full recovery and will continue to provide support to the families as they navigate this challenging period.”
In light of the tragic incident, the education ministry is strongly urging parents and guardians to ensure their children use reputable and safe transportation services.
Further, it said it is imperative that transportation providers adhere to all safety standards and regulations to prevent such devastating occurrences.
The Ministry is strongly discourages sharing sensitive images and videos of the scene out of respect for the students and their families.
