Reverse Income Tax Credit payments delayed

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising that persons awaiting receipt of their $20,000 Reverse Income Tax Credit may experience delays in getting the funds in their bank accounts.

It says it is currently in dialogue with the Accountant General's Department to rectify the issue, in addition to contacting the affected individuals to inform them of the delay.

TAJ says it has been advised that the issue should be resolved within the next three business days.

Applicants may submit their queries at (888) TAX-BACK/ (888) 829-2225 or TaxBack@taj.gov.jm  for updates.

Eligible individuals who have not yet submitted their applications are reminded that the deadline has been extended to December 13.

Applications can be made via the Tax Authority's portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
