Sagicor Sigma Run 2025 aims to raise $115 million

The 2025 staging of Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run, set for Sunday February 16, is aiming to raise J$115 million.

“We’ve set an ambitious target of $115 million. It may seem daunting, but I am confident that together, we will achieve it,” Christopher Zacca, Chairman of the Sagicor Foundation, said at the launch of the 27th staging of the event at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston on Tuesday.

Registration opened on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, and runs until January 31, 2025.

The proceeds from this staging will go to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) Intensive Care Unit, Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre and Father Ho Lung and Friends Foundation.

“They are counting on us to do what we do best – make a meaningful difference in the lives of our fellow Jamaicans,” Zacca said.

Cedella Marley, philanthropist and daughter of Reggae legend Bob Marley, along with recording artiste Nigy Boy were announced as patrons for the annual event.

Olympians Rasheed Broadbell and Stacey-Ann Williams are also onboard to support the 2025 staging.

Vice president with responsibility for corporate social responsibility, Nicole Campbell Robinson, said the “patrons symbolise the resilience, dedication, and community spirit that define the Sigma Run, and we are happy to have them join us as we aim to extend our reach across the island and beyond.”

The 2024 Sigma Run raised J$109 million, exceeding the J$100 million target. More than 27,000 Jamaicans participated in the run. The 2024 beneficiaries were Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, National Chest Hospital, and Danny Williams School for the Deaf.
