Governor General to undergo spinal surgery
King's House has announced that Governor General Sir Patrick Allen will undergo an elective spinal surgery today.
It says the surgery is aimed at alleviating the "debilitating and painful effect of his condition".
During Sir Patrick's recovery, Custos Rotulorum for Kingston, Steadman Fuller, will deputise to ensure the continuity of the office of the governor general.
"We extend our prayers and well wishes for His Excellency's successful procedure and speedy recovery. The nation remains grateful for his steadfast dedication and looks forward to his return to duty," a release from King's House stated.
