Ashley Martin Excites with Attitude

The recent staging of the annual Caribbean FashionWeek (CFW) saw the likes of many local and regional designers leaving their fashionable mark on what was a fantastic showcase. One such designer to rock the runway was none other than Ashley Martin, with her female line, Attitude.
Outlook sat down with the designer to find out more about her line as well as get her thoughts on the CFW experience and plans for her upcoming projects.
Martin tells Outlook that her love for fashion began at a very young age. As she grew up, she had her eyes set firmly on making that dream a reality. "After performing at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues in 2010, everyone fell in love with the gown I designed and performed in. I decided that this looked like a good path to take on, and so I took the risk, and here I am today."
The multitalented entrepreneur, who dabbles in acting, painting, and hosting as well as voice-overs, is inspired by things around her - art, people. These aspects of life motivate her designs.
"I'm all about celebrating the female body. You can show a bit of skin and still be glamorous. I love to see a confident, beautiful woman who aspires to be a cut above the rest. So my designs are for women who dare to be different."
And the proof was in the high fashion she showed at CFW 2015. Her designs oozed fierceness in every strut - glitz, glam and shimmer, while toying with vibrant colour. The best part of her set came when a vision in a pink glitter swimsuit glided elegantly down the runway. Here are the highlights.
