Stylish, Sexy, Holiday Fashion

Published:Tuesday | December 8, 2015 | 12:00 AM
Baring the midriff is tastefully done here because of the hemline's length. The structured fabric with sateen finish makes it holiday ready. The chosen necklace is angular and not too girly, which works with the lines in the cut-outs. Perfect for Cabana City Reserve.
Perfect for a Christmas holiday party, these outfits scream fabulous and flirty. Both featuring Bardot sleeves, these outfits highlight sexy shoulders, and can minimise problem arms. These would be great choices if you're a bit unsure about the crowd that you're going to, if it's too dressy or too casual, you will fit right in either way.
For those nighttime beachside soirées, this ensemble says glam and glitz with emphasis on comfort. The skirt features a thigh-high slit while the moveable fabric gives comfort and style. Though shown with flats, this look can be styled with a crisp white shirt and strappy heels for a more formal event.
This blush-toned number features a barely-there hemline and screams siren! The mock-neck and angled T-shirt hemline are updates on a sequinned dress and keep the look fresh and youthful. This would be perfect for Utopia as it falls under pastels- and the new colour of the year 2016 – Pantone’s Rose Court.
Classy and chic. This is nude capelet dress is for the woman who is comfortable in fashion and who knows how to own a room. The styling for this dress must be kept minimal, a statement cuff and singular drop earrings with a glitzy bag all in the same palette works. A woman with a lighter complexion should choose burgundy, deep olive, or chocolate brown accessories to balance the nude colour.
A smoking red gown and an emerald cocktail dress with clean lines is a great way to showcase statement jewelry. The belted waist highlights the exaggerated skirt and the gold multi-strand necklace works for her complexion. Perfect for New Year's Eve events.
Go classy and ladylike in this figure-flattering '50s-inspired dress in a fresh botanical print. The floral print has a dark base in navy, so it doesn't make it too summery and thus makes it entirely appropriate for a Christmas family dinner.
Mahek wears a structured shift dress in a dark bold botanical print featuring a contrasting Peter Pan collar in cream. This beautiful knee-length dress strikes the perfect balance between polish and femininity and would be perfect as a hostess dress.

It's that time of year when the party scene comes alive! Early December to New Year's Eve, it seems every evening there's a special occasion calling for 'Festive Attire' or 'Black Tie'.

Holiday parties are the perfect time to pay homage to glitz and glam by choosing pieces which reflect the glow of Christmas lights. Perennial colour favourites such as jewel tones, daring reds, and classic blacks, are joined in harmony with deep burgundies, soft nudes, and midnight blues. With the help of Flirt Boutique, we will showcase a variety of looks highlighting the hottest and newest trends in holiday fashion.

Nirvanna:

We thought what better way to highlight the gilded fabrics and jewel tones reminiscent of pure Indian silks and jewellery than to shoot against the new hot-spot eatery- Nirvanna, a modern Indian/Pan-Asian fusion restaurant. According to Mahek Chatani proprietor of Nirvanna, "Indian food is appreciated all over the West Indies which goes back to the connection of India and the islands. Jamaicans love food with flavour and spices, so we at Nirvanna try to create a culinary connection with Jamaicans." Nirvanna will be hosting a special event for New Year's Eve, so please call for reservations.

Fabrics:

This season's holiday fashion is being redefined, trending towards modern subtleties, minimalism, with emphasis on texture and cut. When we think of glam and luxe, we instinctively think of sequins, and rightfully so, but we now see streamlined sheen in soft moveable satins and silk taffetas. This proves to be a welcome alternative to the sometimes garish all-over sequins. Other textural fabrics include rich velvets and delicate lace which pay homage to the cyclical baroque trend.

Silhouette:

Exaggerated A-line dresses are a welcome silhouette for the woman who celebrates her femininity and loves to play dress up. A less forgiving silhouette - the baring midriff - trend gets grown up in structured jumpsuits when it is balanced by a conservative hemline. Jumpsuits in stretch fabrics mature into more starched fabrics for a crisp, sophisticated look.

Jewellery:

This Christmas, forget demure jewellery. Save dainty fine jewellery and opt for carefully selected statement pieces in necklaces, cuffs, and drop earrings. With more subtle apparel choices, accessories play a bigger part in achieving that completed finished look.
