MoBay City Run pasta party

WESTERN BUREAU:

With a choice of creamy Alfredo or tomato sauce pasta, combined with either shrimp, seafood mix or vegetables, the team at Seafood Market welcomed MoBay City Run sponsors and participants on Friday, April 7 in Montego Bay, St James. The variety of pasta was complemented by red and white wines, and Jumex juices, courtesy of Rosh Marketing.

Operated under the Rainforest Seafoods umbrella, Seafood Market, which was recently refurbished, titillated the taste buds and was a feast to the eyes at the first in a series of pasta parties leading up to the annual 10K/5K Run and Walk, which will be staged at the Old Hospital Park, Gloucester Avenue, on Sunday, May 7.

Rainforest Seafoods' director of marketing and corporate affairs, Roger Lyn, said his company came back on as sponsors this year, "because we have seen the impact that the race has had on students struggling to remain in university".

He lauded the Montego Bay City Run organising committee for what he said was a commendable and forward-thinking initiative of adding early-childhood education to their thrust.

"The formative years in a child's life is extremely important," said Lyn, adding that his company was in the process of compiling the names of the staff members ready to run for education under the theme 'Hope for the Future'.

Other sponsors who turned out to support the event were Sandals Resorts International, Courts, BullHead Water, Cover Me Up Tents, and the Goddard Catering Group.

MoBay City Run is in its fourth year and has donated more than $10.5 million over the past three years.
