Showers of blessings fell last weekend on the celebrations of Couples Swept Away, and Couples Negril, as they both celebrated their 19th anniversary.

Couples Swept Away was the first to celebrate on Friday night.

Their glitz-and-glam theme lit up the night as guests and locals came out to party. Elegant black, white and silver decor, including a giant crystal chandelier hanging above the main pool created a spectacular scene.

Saturday night was an authentic cultural experience with its roots, rock, reggae theme. The decorations of graffiti-covered zinc fences, an ice carving of reggae great, Bob Marley, and authentic Jamaican treats such as tie-a-leaf and potato pudding, set the theme for the night.

But, the icing on the cake was the performance by legendary Big Ship captain himself, Freddie McGregor. With his catalogue of hits, he had guests on their feet, dancing, singing, and swaying to his songs. Things were then taken up a notch with the incomparable saxophonist Dean Frazer. It was a night to remember that guests will not soon forget, as nothing was overlooked at the grand double-celebration that captivated the capital of casual.
