The laborious days of filling out pages and pages of questionnaires are coming to an end, thanks to Ingenuity Technologies. The company recently launched its mobile survey and digital data-collection tool - iSurvey.

Ingenuity Technologies drives digital innovation internally and externally by utilising four pillars: cloud, mobility, business intelligence and automation.

For the past five years, the company has been delivering fully integrated, high-quality software engineering and software testing to forward-thinking organisations across the Caribbean. Ingenuity received a multimillion-dollar funding from the Development Bank of Jamaica and partnered with the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, which made iSurvey possible. The app is available to businesses of all sizes, ranging from start-ups SMEs, to large enterprises.

Ingenuity Technologies' founder and CEO, Melarka Williams, introduced the guests to the benefits of his new data-collection and communication tool. He explained, "Ingenuity Technologies is a software engineering firm which partners with its clients to help them automate their businesses, leading to increased efficiency and increased profits. The app, which is built with an intuitive design and easy-to-use interface, allows companies to better understand their clients by collecting data with customised questionnaires and forms. Users will be able to analyse that data and utilise it to grow their business. Additionally, it will serve as a communication tool, allowing companies to directly communicate with their clients via text messages, email or social media. It is a tool to be used regionally and internationally; therefore, regional companies will have a cost-effective solution that gives them a global reach," he said.

The app will replace the traditional paper-based methods of conducting surveys and data collection, which many have found to be time-consuming, unreliable and outdated. It will provide increased efficiency, better metrics from direct marketing campaigns, and general data collection.

"The creation of technology is how the Caribbean will grow economically. We need to play a key role in digital innovation for the rest of the world," said Williams. "The Caribbean has the skills and infrastructure to be major players in the global software services and digital innovation space. We have hundreds of engineers leaving school each year. We have angel investors and venture capitalists, and access to good mentorship and advisory committees in the Caribbean.

"With iSurvey, Ingenuity seeks to make its mark by positioning the Caribbean as a disruptor in the digital innovation market; to be a place which creates technology for the rest of the world to use, rather than only consumers of it."

Managing director of the Development Bank of Jamaica Milverton Reynolds, who also spoke, said, "I think the potential of this company is amazing and tremendous."
