WESTERN BUREAU:

Like an extraterrestrial force making landfall, Solar, the breakfast party, satiated the appetites of revellers with far more than Hennessey and Moet Rose, on Sunday morning March 24, along the white sandy beach at Tropical Bliss, Whitehouse, Montego Bay.

Doubling their 2017 numbers, organisers Antidote Entertainment, had the perfect medicine for a city which is 'celebrating' its third month under enhanced security measures.

The hundreds who turned out seemed hungry for fun, musical vibrations and limitless sweetness. Antidote seemed to have found the perfect solution to feed the desire.

Now in its third year, the epic 5 a.m. start time event, is staged annually to raise funds in collaboration with 'We Care for Cornwall Regional Hospital'. By 10:30 a.m., the organisers were announcing a million dollars in their kitty for the ailing landmark.

Imbibing on J Wray and Nephew, Hennessy Black, the Usain Bolt-endorsed G.H. Mumm Champagne, Patron, and several other libation, the party people rocked to sounds of DJ Nicco, jigged to DJ Jigga's selection, and moved their waistlines to DJ Ashile's set.

It was a morning of salt fish fritters, Foska Oats smoothies, escoveitch fish and bammy, franks and beans, mackerel rundown, pancakes and waffles, yoghurts, sausages and omelettes.

There was no question that the party people in attendance were ready to #raveforcharity.

With plans in place for Solar's second edition for 2018, the organisers have announced an August date, promising an all-inclusive morning of bliss.
