Kerie-Ann 'Kiki' Thombs, is starring in a new show. The seasoned media personality, accepts her new role as a first-time author of an empowering book, Discovering You, The Search is Over. She has set out to help many to unearth their strength and find the power within, simply by leading their best life.

For some time, Thombs had been wanting to pen her thoughts and valuable life lessons, but was always reluctant. Then an epiphany two years ago, changed her forever and ultimately forced her to commit to the paper.

"It was a spiritual enlightenment for me. It wasn't something that I had set out to do necessarily, but something came to me a few years ago and kept throbbing me to write a book ... and one time after I almost met in an accident. After that experience, the first thought that crossed my mind is that I could have died and I wouldn't have written my book and that was the catalyst that said 'yes, the time is now'," she explained.

ORGANICALLY EVOLVING

So, she wholeheartedly devoted herself to the task, delved into her creative wits and came out with a masterpiece. Her work cleverly explores neuroscience and spirituality, mainly highlighting the correlation between the two. It chronicles Thombs' success story of a depressed, incarcerated, and suicidal teenage mother, who loses her son through the legal system, and the struggles with the tragic death of her father, transforming into a strong "powerhouse".

Thombs became captivated by neuroscience, submerging herself in an enthralling programme that shed light on detoxing the brain. She sees it as an eye opener and soon grew fond of what she describes as "the collaboration of both worlds", the spiritual realm and the scientific sphere.

"Persons think that the they can't coexist, but they do and in a very powerful manner. But you can only see this if you understand the principles of either. This set in on a whole journey of research and just delving into it, and that's what forms the foundation of my book - because these principles tied in with my story."

She stresses that the book is not her memoir. Instead, she declares that it's about the reader and it is one of those books that everyone can benefit from. Thombs meticulously crafted her piece with critical messages, and hopes that readers will learn from her commission.

Until then, Thombs says, "Nothing changes if nothing changes. Most of us have wanted to make a change from the past five to 10 years of our lives and still haven't done anything, because we are creatures of habits. Everything you seek on the outside is within you and you have to believe that, because your thoughts really do create your life and a lot of us miss that."
