Chillin’ with Appleton

Nestled in Hope Zoo, one of Jamaica's main attractions, Chillin' Serengeti, is the newest sizzling hot spot for the new year.

Recently kicking off the festive season by reopening its doors to the public, Chillin' Serengeti, prides itself on producing flavour and ambience of epic proportions. Under a rejuvenated name and new management, the rustic and gastronomically exquisite restaurant also boasts branding from one of the leading spirit brands in Jamaica, Appleton Estate.

At the launch, specially invited casually chic socialites made their grand entrance into the renovated space, awakened by ambrosial aromas dancing in the open air. They were greeted by a refreshing welcome drink, courtesy of Appleton and were later invited to sample the likes of delectable variety in shrimp and fish, bacon and herb-crusted corn, and more, prepared fresh from the kitchen.

P.J. Wright and Courtney Murray, the dynamic duo responsible for this venture, went above and beyond to provide this uniquely authentic Jamaican experience for both locals and internationals alike. From the Chillin' On The Farm series in Clarendon, Murray's Fish & Jerk Hut, Broken Plate, and now Chillin' at the Serengeti, they have all one thing in common, strong collaborative efforts with Appleton Estate.

Long-standing relationship

According to Michelle Sinclair, J. Wray & Nephew's commercial director, Appleton, has had the pleasure of working with them over the years and the company was honoured to jump on board for Chillin' Serengeti. "We have enjoyed this long-standing relationship because Appleton Estate shares similar values with P.J. and Courtney. We all celebrate authentic Jamaican experiences and culture, and nothing is more vibrant than our local cuisine paired with Appleton Estate Jamaica, which is crafted in the heart of Jamaica. We are confident that these two have what it takes to have patrons jonesing for delectable Jamaican bites with a cocktail in hand for years to come," she shared at the launch.

They all offered a celebratory cheer and the kitchen was officially open for purchase.

Outside of the simple and signature mixes, Appleton has, in addition, incorporated some new cocktail to the menu such as Boo in the Zoo and Blue Rush Lemonade, which are both must-haves to complete the ultimate dining excursion. Now that's what you call 'Chillin' with Appleton! Just in case you weren't able to attend the relaunch, Outlook has the social highlights.
