Sashelle Gooden, ‘Hear Me Out – Life Uncut’ host, passionately made known her sentiments behind the selection of ‘Surviving Your Storm’ as a topic included in Season 1 of the YouTube series.

“Never let anyone tell you how to feel or make you think that your situation is less intense than someone else’s. I think a world of trouble comes from having to suppress your true feelings and pretending that we are okay when we are not. You have to acknowledge how you feel and accept it, or you won’t be able to fix it. We all have our struggles, but we have to push through; giving up on yourself cannot be an option. It might seem the world is against you and nothing is panning out in your favour, BUT never lose hope in yourself, ensure each day you do at least one thing towards changing your situation.”

Episode 7 shares a short insight into the life of Alfanso Mason, known and loved by those who traverse the intersection of Shortwood and Upper Waterloo roads. Many of his customers express that they give him the unwavering support because of his constant pleasant demeanour and his work ethic.

“He hardly misses a day from work and if he were having a bad day you wouldn’t know! It takes you a while to realise the obvious – that he has one leg. He is always just pushing through, rain or shine, and selling his bananas,” said Newell, in expressing her fascination with Alfanso.

Gooden added, “If you take some time when stuck in traffic to observe him, you learn so many life lessons. You are forced to do some introspection. I came to the realisation that regardless of your situation, it doesn’t have to thwart you. You get to decide how you are going to move ahead; are you going to overcome your situation or let it overcome you?”

Tonight, Alfanso shares his story at 7:30 p.m. on the YouTube channel, Hear Me Out – Life Uncut.

“You won’t believe his story, and you won’t believe that with all he has endured, his outlook on life remains positive. He is an amazing person and I am happy that he is willing to use his story to encourage others,” Newell pointed out, as she commented on why persons should ensure to watch this episode.

“Everybody can benefit from the positive outlook and words of others, so we are encouraging persons to subscribe as well as to send their one-minute video with words of encouragement to hearmeoutbusinessmail@gmail.com.”
