Registration has begun for the 20th staging of the Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference (CSEC) set for May 2-3 in Miami, Florida.

The CSEC, which will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Doral, will bring shipping and logistics executives, allied service providers, and industry experts from across the world to the city for engaging discussions on opportunities and challenges facing the industry.

The Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA)-led event marks the physical return of the conference that was moved to a virtual format last year, following a pandemic-driven cancellation in 2020.

The conference’s first day will feature a presentation on using culture and emotion to drive results in business, led by author Eduardo Braun, and moderated by CSA Group A chairman Eduardo Pagan. Other presentations include maritime law and the role of information and communications technology in the shipping industry. There will also be a presentation on the Caribbean Research Institute by economist and researcher Ricardo Sanchez, who will give an overview of its findings on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Caribbean ports and maritime trade.

The CSEC’s second day will include seminars on the e-bill of lading, cybersecurity, the new era of the cruise industry, the future of energy, and a panel on mentorship and women’s equality.

Sponsors of the event include Kingston Wharves Limited, the Shipping Association of Barbados, Svitzer and Shipco Transport.

Individuals interested in registering may visit the CSA’s website at caribbeanshipping.org or contact secretariat@caribbeanshipping.org.
