J. Wray & Nephew (JWN) Limited hosted more than 700 students from basic schools across the communities along Spanish Town Road at their seventh annual Christmas treat on December 3.

JWN staff participated in bringing cheer to the children and their teachers, as well as donated the gifts. This year's treat featured games, rides, clowns, popular cartoon characters and Santa Claus.

Greta Bogues, senior director, corporate affairs and external communications, expressed delight at the day's events.

"We know the children of the community look forward to this event each Christmas, and we are happy to continue to bring smiles to their faces during the festive season." She noted that JWN has always emphasised corporate social responsibility as part of its strategy, and so remains committed to giving back to the community.

The treat, which started in 2007 with just two schools, one each from Seaview Gardens and Waterhouse, has grown to nine schools comprising more than 700 students and 60 teachers, who were also presented with gifts from the company. JWN also donated gifts to more than 90 students at the Appleton Basic School located in Siloah, St Elizabeth.
