Food and Finance with JMMB
Investors and clients of Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) made their way to Melwood Avenue last Thursday to experience just what a fusion of food and finance entails.
Greeted by cocktails and hors d'ouevres upon arrival, the stage set was beyond picturesque. Guests mingled on the terrace overlooking the magnificently lit pool, topped by an exquisite waterfall.
They were then invited into a sophisticated, chic lounge decked with bistro tables and high chairs and sofas to witness a live cooking demonstration by none other than Chef Brian Lumley.
The audience watched in sheer admiration as Lumley took them on an enticing journey, preparing before their very eyes a scrumptious garlic shrimp Alfredo linguine pasta. As their eyes feasted, guests also lent their ears to JMMB's Michelle Sinclair-Doyley, who juxtaposed Lumley's cooking method of combining key ingredients with the step-by-step process of investment portfolio growth, development and risk management. The dynamic duo was unstoppable, and both excelled in serving up a taste of success.
With appetites whet, guests were then invited back outside to partake of a flavourful feast. With filled stomachs they later broke off into groups of six to put their culinary skills to the test, competing in the omlette portfolio challenge. Many came out to battle, but in the end, there could only be one winner, and Team Rankin was awarded the best of them all in culinary execution and financial explanation.
