1 Many would have seen the Instagram photo of super wealthy Melinda Gates (Bill's wife) carrying a five-gallon bucket of water on her head in Malawi. She was showing how the other side survives. Of course, the practice still persists in many rural villages here in Jamaica and lately in the Corporate Area where some residents have had to be foraging for water in these parched times.

2 Baby drama is always unfolding at funerals. And the recent revelation of a love child had high society raising highbrows at the recent funeral service in Kingston. Most embarrassed were the daughters, who did not know that dear daddy had stepped out on their mom with someone in their age group. Ah well.

3 Something really needs to be done to stir things up in the courts. How can a person be waiting on a divorce - an uncontested one at that, for four years? It seems there is a black hole at the Supreme Court from which documents are very slow to emerge. An efficient court system is one of the hallmarks of a progressive society, so those who are crowing about progress should keep really keep their mouths shut.
