The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) will be a major sponsor for this year's Miss Jamaica World pageant. Last Sunday, franchise holder of the pageant, Laura Butler, revealed that for the first time in decades the JTB is a major sponsor of the event.

"We've had the endorsement of the JTB in the past, but now we have them as a major sponsor ... this is significant as we haven't had this in decades," Butler noted.

The Miss Jamaica World Organisation has selected 15 beautiful women who will be vying for the crown.

This year's competition will remain in the tourism capital of Montego Bay, and, according to Butler, it is a strategic one because the show will be broadcast live in 25 countries. They are promoting Brand Jamaica, not only locally, but internationally via live streaming, along with promoting local talent, designers and everything Jamaican.

Another major benefit coming out of the partnership is that this year's winner will be a Jamaica Tourist Board ambassador. Butler said that this will strengthen the partnership not just locally, but internationally as well.
