Go Red for women: More than just tea
High tea, anyone? On Wednesday, sponsors, diplomats and socialites showed up in fine fashion, creating quite a wave with a sea of radiant red, hats and fascinators for the highly anticipated annual tea event at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in St Andrew.
Hosted by the Heart Foundation of Jamaica, High Tea plays a major part in supporting the 'Go Red for Women' fundraising initiative, which seeks to highlight the importance of being heart-healthy.
Master of ceremonies for the proceedings, Fae Ellington, welcomed all and encouraged everyone to partake in all the day had to offer. The Heart Foundation's brand ambassador, Dr Sanneta Myrie, took to the stage to welcome all to the event, and expressed her sincere gratitude to the organisers for making her a brand ambassador.
Tea aside, guests were invited to indulge in an assortment of savoury and sweet delights, and were treated to prizes and surprises, topped with vocal performances inside the Venetian ballroom. But the outskirts were just as entertaining with Tarot card reading by Minka, free makeovers by Revlon, sparkling mocktails offered by Welch and yoghurt smoothies freshly prepared by Dairy Industries. Ashley Furniture Home Store had a living room on display maybe a hint for Mother's Day. All in all, Heart Foundation's High Tea was once again a success.
