Kiwanis Christmas Ball a success

Last Saturday, The Kiwanis Club of Kingston hosted their annual Christmas charity ball at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, where the flamboyant Christmas decor transformed the ballroom into a sea of red and blue getting everyone present in the Christmas mood.
Master of Ceremonies Robert 'Bobby' Finzi-Smith delighted guests with his numerous stories, with members of the club being the brunt of his jests.
The charity ball is the clubs' signature fundraising event, and proceeds from the event will assist in funding a number of the club's charity projects for 2017-2018. This will enable them to carry out their duties in assisting the less fortunate, the disabled and the disadvantaged in society, with special emphasis on children.
"This is in keeping with the Kiwanis International motto 'Serving the Children of the World'," said newly appointed president Gihan deMel.
The night featured a delicious meal of wild salmon saffron and coconut emulsion with a jerked, coffee-rubbed beef tenderloin in Portabella Mushroom Red Wine, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, while Tanice Morrison in Cabaret sang old-time favourites in a live performance.
The event was deemed a success as individuals and members of the corporate community came out to show their support and dance the night away.
