Last Saturday, Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Fairview kicked off 'Design Tips for The Holiday' with Angelie Martin-Spencer of Angelie Spencer Home to much fanfare.

Holiday shoppers were invited to learn new ways to deck their halls with the innovative, home-decor series.

Over 100 specially invited guests were privy to detailed and practical advice for maximising their furniture, home accents, and accessories to impress their family and friends.

Spencer not only spoke about the home, but how to rock the season's parties wearing designs from the drenaLuna fashion line.

However, the focus of the series demonstrated the usefulness of Ashley accessory pieces and how they can be incorporated into the dining or entertainment experience.

Spencer highlighted, for instance, that a firm ottoman can double as a foot rest or used with a tray for serving or displaying food.

Speaking on the inspiration for 'Design Tips for The Holidays', Renae McKenzie, acting brand manager, also explained: "Traditionally, the Yuletide season has a lot of excitement around home activities, including home renovations and repairs. We saw this as a great opportunity to continue our value-added service to our guests by providing a platform for inspiring them on how to incorporate urbanology, vintage casual, and contemporary living ideas into their own holiday entertaining and decor." The event moves to their Liguanea Branch on Saturday December 23.
