Tuesday Talk

1 Our usually vocal Jamaican women have not added heft to the #MeToo movement, although there are loud whispers about sexual occurrences (including consensual) that go on in high places. Take this high-profile executive who can't understand why his job is on the line even after he has reportedly fathered a child with a work colleague, thereby creating a toxic environment for others.

2 Shoppers at a Cross Roads establishment were hushed into embarrassing silence when a member of the public tore off her underwear and exposed herself during a confrontation with a female security guard. That's a regular form of expression in inner-city communities.

3 A 30-member Cabinet! Well, they have got a lot of work to do. We wish the new government well in its quest to make life better for all groups. Many are hoping Jamaicans will get better treatment when they touch down on those shores.
