Great bonding time at Daddy Daughter Dance

Scores of fathers received an early Father's Day treat when the lawns and deck of Millbrook Resort in Rosehall, St James, came alive recently.
The event, dubbed Daddy Daughter Dance, was organised by First Dance Studios to help strengthen the important bond between fathers and their daughters and highlight its social impact on the community.
"I wanted to create the perfect atmosphere for daddies to treat their daughters like the princesses they are," said Jody-Marie Hussey, director, First Dance.
"It's reminiscent of the bond I had with my dad as a little girl and the significant impact his example and that relationship has had on the woman I am today," she continued.
The evening commenced with a cocktail hour on the lawns, and daughters, all dressed up in their formal gowns, were able to get treated at the 'glam station' to make-up and nail polish of their choosing. The fathers looked on as they enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Guests were then ushered to the deck for a sumptuous dinner and entertainment under the stars as they enjoyed the view of lush greenery and the lit waters of the infinity pool.
Entertainment included a thrilling act by Focus the magician, dance numbers by members of the First Dance Studios multi-award-winning troupe, and vocal acts. The night culminated with the dance floor being opened to the juggling of DJ Jay Kay, and it was difficult to tell whether the fathers or daughters enjoyed it more as they partied the night away.
"It was a truly wonderful and unique experience. I've never seen anything like this in Jamaica, and I'm definitely looking forward to it again next year," said Mark Hamilton, one of the beaming fathers who was also the master of ceremonies at the event.
"It's definitely a great event, and friends of mine who didn't get to come this time are already gearing up for next year," shared Steffan-Chad Haughton.
Needless to say, the team at First Dance is thrilled at the success and reviews and will be ensuring that this becomes an annual event in honour of fathers.
