More than 200 friends of Jamaica attended a special dinner in honour of Prime Minister Andrew Holness, on November 27.

Hosted by Ambassador of Jamaica to the United States Her Excellency Audrey Marks, the dinner was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC.

It brought out the "who's who" in Washington, DC, including General Colin Powell (ret), US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr Ben Carson and Mrs Candy Carson, US Senator Ted Cruz, Congresswomen Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Barbara Lee, and Yvette Clarke, as well as Mr Guy Steuart III, chairman of Half Moon Hotel; ambassadors; members of the diplomatic corps; and heads of various Jamaican organisations.

Dinner guests came in from as far as Miami, Connecticut, New York, Baltimore, and Virginia.

The dinner coincided with the prime minister's official visit to Washington, where his schedule included high-level meetings at the White House, Senate, House of Representatives, International Monetary Fund, Inter-American Development Bank, and World Bank.
