Modify Me off to a hip start in Montego Bay

Self-taught artist Danielle Lee, who has been painting over the past seven years, has become an expert in the field of tattoo art. She recently opened Modify Me at the Iconic Fearview Plaza in Montego Bay.
The 24-year-old, who did a body modification course in New York four years ago, is now showcasing not only her work, but several young artists are being given exposure on the walls of the western Jamaica-based gallery, which is also big on picture framing.
"There is so much unexposed talent out there that deserve more recognition. I think having opened an art gallery in Montego Bay is a positive start, not only for our artists, but for the locals who will now be given a chance to embrace and be a part of the art world," Lee told The Gleaner.
In fact, Modify Art is the newest hotspot for the hip and trendy lovers of tattoos and body modifications.
Some of the youngsters who Lee has given the opportunity to display their work include, Kyrstal Baugh, from St Catherine, Romaine McNeil, Abigail Hewitts, a 23-year-old, already known for her feminist pieces, Amanda Mitchell from Kingston, and Alicia Thomas, whose rugs were a hit with guests at the opening reception.
