International Women’s Day has passed, but we are celebrating women all March and zooming in on the lessons they have learnt, those who inspire them, and everything that makes women strong, resilient, and beautiful forces of nature.

Name a woman you most admire and why?

The woman I admire the most is my mom. She exudes strength, and she is very helpful. It doesn’t matter how old I am. I can always count on her to come running the second that I call, and I want to be that tower of strength for my daughters just as she is for me.

What advice would you give a young woman just joining the workforce?

Selah Morales-Thompson, brand manager domestic and export, Magnum Tonic Wine, Moët Hennessy, Gallo Wines and Colbeck: Work hard, and don’t let anyone dim your light … the road to success is not usually a straight line; it has lots of hills and valleys. At times it may seem hard to get up the hill, but keep pushing and believe in yourself and your abilities. Also, on the financial side, I wish someone had given me financial advice earlier in my career. So as early as you can, invest, invest, invest. If it’s even a small amount, set aside something and invest for yourself and your future.

Name a woman you most admire and why?

Nicole Bhoorasingh, wireless product manager, Huawei: An example of the woman I most admire is Muniba Mazari. She is an artist and an activist who just happens to be in a wheelchair. I most admire the women who never let life keep them down or wait around for someone else to solve their problems. They go out, do what needs to be done and make a better life for themselves and their loved ones. I know numerous women who have done so and are doing so. I respect each and every one of them.

What type of clothes makes you feel most comfortable?

Rochelle Spencer, fashion designer, Yours Truly Rochelle, winner Mission Catwalk Season 6: Swimwear! I’m all about embracing my body and femininity overall, and swimsuits make me feel fearlessly sexy and just to love on myself. Swimsuits make me feel body- and mind-positive!
