Haile Selassie High will look to continue their impressive run when they tackle Camperdown High today in a Group D clash in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/

LIME Manning Cup football competition at Alpha Boys Home playing field. Kick-off time is 3:30 p.m.

Group leaders Haile Selassie have maximum nine points from three games, while Camperdown are in second position on six from two games.

The stage is set for an early showdown as a win for Haile Selassie will see them strengthen their chances for zone honours and a place in the inaugural ISSA/LIME Super Cup next month.

New coach of Haile Selassie, Michael 'Jah Mikes' Williams, says the aim is to travel to Alpha Boys Home and get at least a point.

"The team has started well by winning the first three games, but there were challenges, as we started pre-season in late August, as we don't have a proper field," Williams pointed out.

"Now playing away from home, the aim is to get at least one point," he said. "We are aware that Camperdown have retained a lot of players from last year's squad, so if we can't win, we would be satisfied with a draw."

influential players

Captain Hamesh Smith, Ricardo Phitts, Wayne Plunkett, and Jurian Lewis have been among the influential players for Haile Selassie.

Meanwhile, Camper-down's coach, Christopher Bender, said today's game against Haile Selassie is part of the journey towards titles this season.

"We are on a journey, and Haile Selassie are the next team in line. We take every game serious. The most important thing is how we impose ourselves, as we want to win all the home games," Bender said.

Camperdown will rely on captain Tevin Shaw, national Under-17 representative Fabian Grant, Oneil Anderson, and Ajuma Johnson to pick up a win.
