Western Bureau:

St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) eased to a 2-0 win over arch rivals Munro College in the final round of group matches in the 2014 ISSA/Lime daCosta Cup, condemning the Malvern-based school to a stinging loss that could see them missing out on inter-zone action.

Munro could have gained an automatic qualification with a victory and a loss for Lacovia against BB Coke, but they failed to spark and succumbed to the champions, who looked rather easy in a victory that moved them to 28 points. Munro remain on 17 points.

As a result, second-place Lacovia (19) have qualified alongside STETHS from the group, although their match with BB Coke was called off because of rain.

30th-minute lead

Rushayne McClymont fired STETHS into a 30th-minute lead from a 35-yard right-sided free-kick, before Rohan Lindsay put an exclamation mark on the contest with a spectacular free kick that gave Onandi McKenzie in the Munro goal no chance in the 36th.

Coach Omar Wedderburn said the win was as expected.

?I am very satisfied with my players and the way we played. We did so with heart,? he said. STETHS turn their attention

to the inter-zone round with victory over Munro.
