Western Bureau:

Montego Bay United and Waterhouse FC renewed their running rivalry in the Red Stripe Premier League, with the champions coming away 1-0 winners at Westpow Park yesterday to move back into second place in the standings.

Winger Alan Ottey netted the lone goal of a bruising contest in the 27th minute, his sixth of the season so far.

Waterhouse played 47 minutes with ten men, after goalkeeper Richard McCallum was issued a red card for handling outside his area.

good first half

MBU (25 points), move to within two points of leaders Waterhouse (27), with Cavalier SC rounding out the top three on 21 points.

"I think we were very good in the first half; we should have scored more goals, but we did get the one which won us the game," said Carlos Garcia, the MBU head coach.

"We are back in second position, and we are building some momentum. So I think we are in a good place at the moment," Garcia said.

"I am very disappointed; very disappointed as we took charge of the entire second half yet failed to get the goal. We missed a number of opportunities but it's just a disappointment," lamented Waterhouse coach Anthony Patrick.
