Several national stars from the Racers Track Club will be in action at today's Camperdown Classic which is slated to get under way at 8:15 a.m inside the National Stadium.

It was expected that six-time Olympic champion, Usain Bolt, would have started his 2015 campaign at today's meet in the 400-metre event, but, according to reliable sources, the world's fastest man will not be in action.

However, several of his teammates will be in action. They include national 400m representative Edino Steele, Ristananna Tracey, a 400m hurdles national representative and Olympic sprint medallist Kerron Stewart. Tracey is expected to run the 800m while Stewart will face the starter in the 400m.

High school athletes will share the spotlight with their senior athletes, as it will be the second leg of the Digicel Grand Prix series where athletes from the Corporate Area will be seeking to cement their spots in grand final scheduled to take place at the GC Foster Classics on March 14. Events down for today's Grand Prix are the 100m, 800m, long jump and 4x400m.

After his impressive 46.87 seconds 400m run at last week's Youngster Goldsmith Calabar High's Class Two star, Christopher Taylor, could even go lower today where he is the leader in this event. His teammate Michael O'Hara is also the leader in the Class One 100m after winning the event a week ago at the same meet in 10.33 seconds.

Among the females, Immaculate High's Jeanine Williams leads the way with 12.25 in the Class One 100m. In the Under-17 category, Alpha's Kiara Grant is on top with 12.05.

Once again, there will be a high school championship 4x100m for Class One boys and girls where the winning team will receive $60, 000, second will collect $25,000 with $15,000 going to the third place team.

St Jago High, led by Natalliah Whyte and Shanice Reid, are the favourite to win the girls' event while the star-studded Calabar team led by O'Hara are favoured to walk away with the boys' title.
