THREE of Jamaica's biggest names in sprinting all ran together in one heat of the 100 metres at the 1992 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Boys' Athletic Championships at the National Stadium.

Disgraced former national 200m champion, Steve Mullings, 200m runner Marvin Anderson and former national 100m champion, Asafa Powell, competed in the heat five of the men's 100m.

Anderson, Mullings and Powell finished first, second, and third, respectively.

Time

Anderson, representing William Knibb Memorial High School from Trelawny, posted 11.10 seconds; Mullings, representing Vere Technical in Clarendon, clocked 11.17; while Powell, of Charlemont in St Catherine, finished third in 11.45.

Anderson and Mullings' times were good enough for a spot in the semi-finals, but Powell did not qualify. Anderson was second in semi-final heat one in 10.86 and advanced to the final, while Mullings also qualified for the final after posting 10.98 for fourth in the same heat.

The final was won by Omar Brown (also known as Mr Veronica Campbell-Brown) in 10.62. Anderson finished sixth in 10.79 and Mullings eighth in 11.16.
