Waterhouse, Humble Lion clash in RSPL feature

Waterhouse will look to cement a spot in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) semi-finals when they face improving Humble Lion today at Waterhouse Stadium, starting at 6 p.m.

With Arnett Gardens already assured of a top-four play-off spot in the battle for the 2014-15 RSPL trophy, Waterhouse could be the second semi-finalists if they beat Humble Lion.

Arnett Gardens lead the race on 57 points, ahead of Waterhouse (51), defending champions Montego Bay United (49), Humble Lion (46) and Harbour View (43) in the top-four battle.

improved performance

Although Waterhouse are yet to lose against Humble Lion this season, co-coach of Waterhouse FC Anthony Patrick is wary of Humble Lion's improved performance under the guidance of Donovan Duckie. In the first round, Waterhouse won 1-0 on September 22 at Humble Lion's Effortville Community Centre home turf, while the round two clash ended 1-1 at Waterhouse Stadium on December 14.

"We (Waterhouse) would like to get the better of them (Humble Lion). They are doing well, a big turnaround since coach Duckie took charge last year," Patrick said on Friday.

"It will be a tough match. The four teams in semi-final positions have a good chance, so a win could solidify our position," he declared. "Once we can get maximum points against Humble Lion it could push us through," he added.
