Jamaican athletes are finding the windy and cold weather difficult to deal with at the Penn Relays so far, but not the Edwin Allen Girls who warmed the track with an impressive display in the preliminary round of the Girl's 4x100 metres relay.

Despite running without top sprinter, Saqkuine Cameron the Michael Dyke coached team sent out a strong message to their rivals that they will be the team to beat in tomorrow's final.

After seeing their main rival, St Jago High, minus Natalliah Whyte posting 47.02 seconds earlier to be the fastest time then, it was a strong reply from the defending champions, as the quartet of Shanice Lewis, Patrice Moody, Shellece Clarke and Aaliyah Hopkins stopped the. clock at 46.29 seconds for the top time going into tomorrow's final.

Clarke who won the Carifta Games Under-18 100 metres title and who ran the third leg was very pleased with her run and the team's effort.

"I felt good out there despite the weather being very cold and with Saqkine (Cameron) to come in the team for the final I think we are going to run much faster" said Clarke who is very confident that they will retain their title.

Former champions, Holmwood Technical are the third fastest qualifier after posting 47.30 seconds to win their Heat.
