Kaliese Spencer ... “I definitely want the medal this year [at the World Championships] so that I’m not only called a Diamond League usual winner".

OSLO, Norway:

In-form Kaliese Spencer won the 400m hurdles with ease at the 50th edition of the ExxonMobil Bislett Games which makes up a leg of the prestigious IAAF Diamond League series.

Spencer, fresh from her win in Birmingham on Sunday, clocked a world leading time of 54.15 seconds.

Drawn in lane 6, the Jamaican made a powerful start and she entered the final bend she had a clear lead.

However, down the home straight that advantage was slowly eaten into by America’s Georganne Moline (54.29). Czech world champion Zuzana Hejnova was third (55.14).

After her 21st Diamond League win an ecstatic Spencer said: “I definitely want the medal this year [at the World Championships] so that I’m not only called a Diamond League usual winner.

It was windy, but I kept going. This race was definitely better technically than the previous one [in Birmingham]”.
