JAAA website hacked
Hackers have breached the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) website forcing the local governing body to seek options to create a more secure page.
JAAA general secretary, Garth Gayle, told The Gleaner yesterday that the association's page crashed at the start of last weekend's National Junior Championships and had not been back up since.
He added that the body first discovered the breach of its Internet page two years ago, but the recent proliferation of breaches had caused the site to be going down much too often.
"The sport of track and field is far too important to the Jamaican public. We are living in the age of technology and information and we have contracted a company that comes with a great deal of evidence producing websites and web pages for companies in Jamaica. Their reputation is excellent. We have engaged them and very soon we will be setting up a more stable website," he said.
Gayle said it appeared to be youngsters who are breaking the site.
"That for us is unacceptable. We can't allow that to continue," he said.
