Barcelona FC to impart philosophy at AISK summer camp

Spanish super club, FC Barcelona, will be looking to impart its world-leading football values and philosophies, locally, via a historic FCB Escola Summer Camp at American International School of Kingston (AISK), set for the week of July 6 to 10.

The FCB Escola camps have trained more than 30,000 young athletes in more than 120 camps worldwide. International superstars Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas emerged from the La Masia youth system.

Barcelona is one of the world's most decorated football teams, having recently won a historic second European treble.

They are 23-time Spanish league champions and five-time UEFA Champions League title holders.

"We will divide the camp in three sections, practical, technical and FCB Escola Values," said coach Cespedes.

Oscar Cespedes has a UEFA A License (Level 2) issued

by the Catalan Football Federation (FCF). Pau Tripiana Cusi has been coaching at FC Barcelona ESCOLA for more than a year. They will conduct the camp alongside local assistants.

"We are going to have the kids working with the same Barcelona methodology that we have in La Masia," Cespedes told The Gleaner in a telephone interview.

Day Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, each day, costing $64,350. Afternoon camp, scheduled for 2:30-6 p.m., will cost $40,950 for boys and girls, 5-17.

'True Barca experience'

The FCB Escola camp is officially licensed by Football club Barcelona, in Spain, and dubbed 'values which inspire a following'. Participants will be given access to FC Barcelona's training and methodology, as well as firsthand experience to 'the true Barca experience'.

Fabeka Lebron, official FC Barcelona Caribbean partner, is excited to be expanding into the Jamaican market.

"We have had great success with the programme here in the Dominican Republic and many other islands across the Caribbean. It not only teaches the children world-class techniques, but instills values necessary to become a valuable member of a team," Lebron. outlined.

Besides the training expertise, an official FC Barcelona package with kit, Nike football, hydration and nutrition will be given to participants.
