Two big late moves in RSPL transfer window

Claudious Blackburn's switch from Cavalier to Harbour View and Rafique Bryan's move to University of the West Indies (UWI) were the two major late Red Stripe Premier League transfers just before the deadline at midnight last Friday.

A former Arnett Gardens youth player, Bryan represented his home town club, sparingly, in the league last season and has decided to join the University of the West Indies for their inaugural top-flight football season.

The 19 year-old is the fifth signing by the UWI, which also added Anthony Greenland, Stephen Lowe, Jamie Robinson, Daniel Gilzene along with Bryan, to their roster for this season.

The transfer of Blackburn from Cavalier to Harbour View is the other major signing in the window. The ex-Cavalier man did not have the best season last year but will be a good addition to the east-Kingston club.

Harbour View also made two late signings. Now at the east Kingston club are former Cavalier goalkeeper Devon Haughton and Akeen Smith, who has moved from Bull Bay.

PROMISING PLAYER

Although defending champions Arnett Gardens will be without Bryan, one of their most promising youth prospects, they have added an adequate replacement in Rivoli and national Under-20 player Davion Garrison. They have also acquired Javasca Taylor and Roger Bucknor from Wanderers, Travellers' Lamard Neil, and Tajar Phillips from Royal Lakes.

Tivoli also made a move in the window before it closed, picking up a valuable buy in former Waterhouse and national under-20 midfielder Theo Brown from Newlands, and former Portmore and national Under-17 player Adrian Christian, and Dwayne Smith from Dunbeholden.
