Western Bureau:

It's crunch time for the three teams in contention for the top places in Group E of the 2015 ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup.

None can afford to misfire today in what is shaping up as a win-or-go-home scenario.

Lacovia High (19 points) will take a three-point lead into their clash with the group's third-place team Munro College (16). This game will be played at St Elizabeth Technical's (STETHS) playfield in Santa Cruz. STETHS (18) will meet Newell who have registered a measly two points. They meet at the Treasure Beach Sports Park.

With two to advance as automatic qualifiers and the best third-place team also a possibility these match-ups take on added significance.

STETHS coach Omar Wedderburn, though pleased with his team's 4-0 rout of B.B. Coke on Wednesday, knows that to top the group his team will have to win and hopes that rivals Munro can do them an enormous favour by defeating Lacovia.

"Come later this evening, we are looking for a three-point result," Wedderburn told The Gleaner.

"We know we have what it takes and are confident that we will defeat Newell. In the same breath, if we are to top the group, Lacovia must lose so we are hoping that Munro will stop them," Wedderburn said.

It is almost a similar storyline in Group H, which features the defending champions Clarendon College. They lead with 15 points, one more than Lennon High (14).

The champions are set to meet one of the weakest teams in the group in Thompson Town while Edwin Allen (13 pts), third in the group, will no doubt have three points on their minds when they tackle second-place team Lennon (14).

Meanwhile, the free-scoring Manchester High will travel to DeCarteret in their final Group F game, having already secured the top place with a perfect nine wins from as many matches.
