WESTERN BUREAU:

Having successfully launched their hunt for the Flow Super Cup title on Saturday, champions Clarendon College have refocused their attention to the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup quarter-final football match against Dinthill Technical this afternoon at Juici Field, beginning at 3.

The champions have been strong all season long, but will be facing perhaps their toughest opponents of the season so far in a determined Dinthill, which made light work of challenges in the preliminary and inter-zone phases.

It is expected that the match will bring out polished performances from both teams, who are keen on stamping their authority in this Group S quarter-final game.

Upbeat

"We won our Super Cup game playing good football and it will be no different against Dinthill, who many say would be one of the teams to beat in this year's competition," said Paul 'Tegat' Davis, coach of Clarendon College.

"My players are fit and ready for this one; we going to take it very seriously as we need to go on defending our title," he added.

The champions are on a 12-match unbeaten run and will enter today's contest in good spirits.

The other Group S encounter will be between two former champions in Rusea's and Glenmuir High. This game will be played at Jarrett Park and will also have a 3 p.m. kick-off.

A battle royale looms at York Oval where Paul Bogle High welcomes Theodore Whitmore's St James High in a tough Group P encounter, while the Manchester-Lacovia High game will take its fair share of interest.

St Elizabeth Technical High School, beaten at the final hurdle last year by Clarendon College and heavily favoured for a return to the title-deciding game this year, will go up against Marcus Garvey at Drax Hall in St Ann.
