ATHLETICS: Williams, Campbell-Brown top events at Beijing IAAF meet

World and Olympic champion Campbell-Brown sped to 22.29 seconds to win the women's 200 metres at the IAAF World Challenge Meeting in Beijing, China earlier.

Veronica Campbell-Brown and Danielle Williams were winners in their respective events at this morning’s International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge Meeting in Beijing, China.

The World and Olympic champion Campbell-Brown sped to 22.29 seconds to win the women's 200 metres.

Campbell-Brown's time is fourth best in the world so far this year.

She also equalled her season's best. 

Another Jamaican, Simone Facey, was second in a season’s best 22.63 seconds while American Tiffany Townsend was third in 23.06 seconds.

Meanwhile, the 2015 World Champion Williams clocked 12.80 seconds to win the women's 100 metres hurdles ahead of Americans Christina Manning, who finished in 12.91 seconds and Tiffany McReynolds who was third in 12.97 seconds.
