ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

International mobile fan engagement and gaming company Ballr has signed off on a deal with the West Indies Cricket Board (WIBC) for title sponsorship of the Tri-Nations Series, which bowled off yesterday in Guyana.

The company, which has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Delhi, and Singapore, is currently looking to expand its reach across the globe, including the Caribbean.

WICB chief executive officer Michael Muirhead said the regional board was delighted to be partnering with the company for the series, which also involves world champions Australia and South Africa.

"The WICB is delighted to announce Ballr as the title sponsor of the 2016 Tri-Nation ODI Series," said Muirhead said.

"With the presence of current 50-overs World Cup champions Australia and the ever-consistent South Africa, along with our own World Twenty20 champions West Indies, the Ballr Cup Series is a high-profile affair and promises to be very exciting.

"We are always excited at the opportunity to host the best teams in the world, and we are happy to have Ballr on board with us for this series."

The series, which runs until June 26, will also see games played at Warner Park in St Kitts and at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

And Sam Jones, founder and CEO of Ballr, said the partnership would be an ideal one for the brand.

"The Tri-Nation Series is a prestigious event, broadcast to millions of fans around the world," he said.

"We are excited to partner with the WICB, and this initiative will provide substantial global exposure for our brand and support our growth in new markets."
