WI Women seek to level series
West Indies Women will be hoping to keep their five-match one-day international series against England Women alive when the teams meet in game four at Sabina Park today.
The series currently sees West Indies trailing by 1-2 after losing the third game by 112 runs last Friday at the same venue.
They have fought back before and captain Stafanie Taylor and her team will be looking to level the series today.
After going down by five runs in the opener, which was played at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium, the West Indies rallied to take game two by 38 runs.
"If history is anything to go by, I think we should bounce back,'' said West Indies assistant coach Ezra Moseley.'' It seems as if we like to come from behind.''
Their mistakes
Looking at the fourth game, Moseley believes that things will be different as the team has analysed their mistakes in game three.
"I think the players realise the mistakes that were made, especially in the field,'' Moseley said.'' We dropped a few catches and allowed the English to run too many twos."
Moseley, who is deputy to head coach Vasbert Drakes, is also hoping that their batting performance will improve.
"The pitch, hopefully, will be another good one to bat on, and I am expecting our batters to come to the party,'' he said.
Only three players made it to double figures in the West Indies' paltry score of 108. They were opener Shaquana Quintyne, 21, Deandra Dottin, 20, and Shermaine Campbelle, 18.
The team's other front line players - Taylor, Hayley Matthews and Merrisa Aguillera - made nine, five and zero, respectively.
Meanwhile, England captain Heather Knight believes that they can close out the series today and, according to her, that is their main intention.
