Sunshine Girl says sorry

National senior netballer,Vangelee William, has apologised for what she describes as "unsportsmanlike behaviour" towards England's midcourt defender Jade Clarke during the recent three-Test series in the United Kingdom.

Her apology came after a shoving incident between both players after the Sunshine Girls 63-50 loss in their second match of their Vitality Netball International Series. The game was played in Manchester, England last Saturday.

Williams described the competition between herself and Clarke during the game as tough but said that the behaviour should not have been carried on after the match.

"To my young fans, please know that it was inappropriate and unsportsmanlike of me to retaliate," Williams says. "Also to my older fans, you know who I am and know what my character on and off the court is, so I must apologise to you as well."

National assistant coach Sasher-Gaye Henry says Williams will not be punished as she has already publicly admitted wrongdoing.

Jamaica went on to win the series 2-1 after Sunday's 64-57 win in Coventry.

The Sunshine Girls are scheduled to arrive home this afternoon at 5:15.
