Richards clears the air
Former president of the Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) Robert Richards has sought to clear the air about his offer to return to the local governing body.
Richards says that his offer to return to the JBA is not to be president, as was previously reported, but actually to offer assistance and to work with the current executive to grow the sport in Jamaica. He says that the presidency is 'not on his agenda'.
Richards previously told The Gleaner that he is concerned about the state of local badminton, saying the sport's affairs have been quiet.
The former national player said that one of his concerns is that the JBA needs more funding and sponsorship in order to attract more young players and look ahead to future international competitions.
