Now or never for Conclusion

One lucky punter bagged a $5.9 million payout in the Pick-9 last Saturday and both Super-6s, along with the Pick-9, start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow.

The 10-race programme which commences at 12:15 p.m. is expected to be keen in most races. The Pick-9 will embrace races two to 10, the first Super-6 from race one to six, the late Super-6 from race five to 10.

We look at the first Super-6 which commences with a restricted allowance race over 1100 metres for five-year-olds and up (non winners of two). Despite a small field of six, the race should be closely contested by the consistent DEMOLITION BOY, PLAY BACK, PARTY CITY and GENUINE ARTICLE.

PARTY CITY has finished among the first three in her last two races and gets a glorious opportunity to leave non-winners of two company, especially with Jason Simpson sticking with the ride for trainer Phillip Elliott.

Simpson had been riding in the United States for some time, winning 35 races at Finger Lakes last year before returning home in December. DEMOLITION BOY and PLAY BACK are twin dangers.

The second race, again over 1100 metres for native bred maiden three-year-olds, will see nine facing the starters, including three first-time runners.

Of these, the Wayne DaCosta-trained ALEXANDER REW (Jerome Innis up) and Richard Azan's ZI BEAST (Odean Edwards) have looked forward in their preparation and should enter the reckoning. But they will have to be above average to topple the Gary Griffiths-trained SILENCE, who ran a blinder over the straight last Saturday when finishing a length second to DON CHASSIS in the Mercury Sprint.

Prior to that, the son of Traditional - Quickster finished a length away third to STORM VALLEY and MILAGRO over this trip on January 7 and despite the presence of the speedy filly

DELPHINIUM (figure 8 on), SILENCE looks the one to beat with Richard 'Bya' Mitchell retaining the ride.

TOP CONTENDERS

Race number three, a maiden special for four-year-olds and up over 1820 metres, brings together top contenders CONCLUSION (Dane Nelson), who has finished second in his last four races, LEEKOUT (Andree Powell), and RUBY ROSE (Dane Dawkins), in a field of seven.

The winner will definitely come from this consistent trio, but the Gary Griffiths-trained CONCLUSION has been begging for a distance such as this, after finishing second (closing rapidly) to JON MARSHALL over 1200 metres last Saturday. And prior to that, he failed by half a length to catch SHARP SKIRT over 1500 metres on January 25. It's now or never for him.

The fourth race over 1400 metres for four-year-olds and up, non winners of three, promises keen competition among the likes of DYSFUNCTIONAL, LORD EQUUS, MONTEGONIAN, BIRD CATCHER, LITTLE BIG HORN and recent winner MY

COMPANION in a field of nine.

Definitely a race to consider multiple choices, but LORD EQUUS, who

finished a close third to LIKE A LADY over 1100 metres last Saturday, will relish the longer distance and with Nelson riding him from the convenient mark of 55.0kg, gets the nod over DYSFUNCTIONAL (working very well) and BIRD CATCHER.

The last two races in the first Super-6 should be won by BUBBLING KITTEN (working well) and down-in-class ARGUMENT DONE to be ridden by Paul 'Country' Francis and Nelson, respectively.
