Edwin Allen High are many people's hot favourites for the girls' title at the ISSA-GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships but Holmwood Technical's head coach, Dave Anderson, is surely not ready to crown them as yet.

TOP HONOURS

Anderson is very confident that Holmwood Technical can challenge Edwin Allen for top honours at the this year's meet.

"The girls are in excellent shape as they have performed well at the various development meets and they are ready to deliver," he said.

Many see Holmwood in a tight battle with former champions St Jago for third and fourth but Anderson disagrees.

"I strongly believe my team can win and the media can say what they want but I have seen in the past where Holmwood won one year by more than 100 points but lost the following year. This is a championships ... when teams do not get points they are predicted to get there can be some panic in the camp and this has happened on more than one occasion so I am not writing off my team," he said.
